Since the 1980s, there has been an industry mantra of businesses being paper-free. Initially, the focus was on the reduction of paper to save office space and improve “records” retrieval. While this may still be the focus for some, today, the emphasis has turned toward removing paper from business processes. The result being one of improved productivity, accessibility and compliance support. With this in mind, we are finding that businesses are more readily accepting paper reduction from the business process rather than just for the sake of reducing storage costs—a best practice that should be considered.
