Who is responsible for your data

Under DataSkills4SMEs project, European Entrepreneurs CEA-PME as a lead project partners are responsible for your data. Our registered office is at Avenue de la Renaissance 1, 1000, Brussels, Belgium. The University of Tor Vergata in Rome, who is a technical partner is a data handler (Via Cracovia, 50, 00133 Rome RM, Italy). We are the data controller of the data which we collect from you, and as such we control the ways your personal data are collected and the purposes for which your personal data are used.

What information do we collect about you?

Information will be requested from you when you register for any services (such as online courses) provided through DataSkill4SMEs Moodle. By entering your details in the fields provided, you enable DataSkill4SMEs to deliver the services you select. This personal information may include, but is not limited to, your contact details, as outlined below:

Your name, email address, gender; city and country (optional)

When you create an account on DataSkill4SMEs Moodle

Further background information, for example, industry you work in, size of the company, country

When you fill in forms/surveys within a course or learning space you are enrolled in

Communication we have with you

Cookies and passive data collection

DataSkills4SMEs Moodle automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, DataSkills4SMEs Moodle cookie information, and the page you request.

DataSkills4SMEs Moodle uses cookie, IP address, and URL information to improve the content of the DataSkills4SMEs Moodle website, the quality of DataSkills4SMEs Moodle servers, and to provide enhanced features to users, where available. Location and security of data

DataSkills4SMEs Moodle is hosted on a secure server located in Italy. All data is stored on our Moodle database which is SSL encrypted. The server is protected by strong password controls, and is monitored for unusual activity such as DDoS attacks and potential data breaches. Furthermore, regular software updates are applied to avoid software vulnerabilities, and daily backups are encrypted

How long we keep your data

Logs about user activity on DataSkills4SMEs Moodle are kept for 5 years. Logs that are older than this age are automatically deleted.

At any point you can initiate a request to obtain a copy of your personal data on this website and/or to delete all your personal data. See “Exporting or deleting your personal data” below.

How we protect your data

We will take reasonable precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or unauthorised alteration of information you provide us with through the website.

Communications from us in connection with DataSkills4SMEs Moodle may be sent to you by email. Email is not a fully secure means of communication and we cannot guarantee our emails are free from viruses and other harmful effects, although we do our best to make them as secure as possible.

We keep these security measures under review and refer to industry security standards to keep up to date with current best practice.

Sharing your data

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or disclosure is required by law. In some instances, however, DataSkills4SMEs may use third parties to process your information.

On these occasions, we will require that these third parties comply strictly with our policy and will prohibit the use of your personal information for their own business purposes.

Exporting or deleting your personal data

You can export and/or delete your personal data on DataSkills4SMEs Moodle by initiating a request from the “privacy and policies” section of your profile. You can also find a link in this section to contact the data privacy officer, and another link to view all the policies and agreements you have signed on this website (such as this privacy policy).

Your rights

You are entitled to see copies of all personal data held by us and to amend, correct or delete such data. You can also limit, restrict or object to the processing of your data. You have the right to be told what personal information we hold about you on our databases and asked for it to be removed.

When you get in touch, we will come back to you as soon as possible and where possible within one month. If your request is more complicated, it may take a little longer to come back to you but we will come back to you within two months of your request. There is no charge for most requests, but if you ask us to provide a significant about of data for example we may ask you to pay a reasonable admin fee. We may also ask you to verify your identity before we provide any information to you.
